Practice questions teach. Mock tests measure — they tell you whether you are ready, under something close to real conditions.
What happens
You get the same number of questions, the same time limit and the same pass mark as the real theory test. Nothing is explained mid-test, because that is not available on the day either.
Afterwards
You get a breakdown by topic. This is the part worth your attention: a score of 40 tells you little, but "you lost four marks on stopping distances" tells you exactly what to do next.
From there, drill the weak topic — the assistant will quiz you on it if you ask.
How many to do
Enough to be consistently clear of the pass mark, not just over it once. One comfortable pass is luck; three in a row is readiness.
