Voice mode is a spoken, hands-free conversation with the Drivings assistant — you talk, it talks back, with no typing. It is included with Pro, and it is by far the most credit-hungry feature, because it is continuous audio in both directions.
Starting it
Open the Assistant and choose voice mode from the message box. Speak normally; you can interrupt it mid-sentence.
When it's worth it
Voice is good for revising while doing something else, and for talking a topic through out loud, which is a genuinely effective way to find out whether you understand something.
It is less good for anything you need to read carefully — sign diagrams, worked answers, lists of rules. Those are easier typed.
What it costs
Voice uses credits considerably faster than typing. It is continuous speech in both directions, and every second of it is metered. A long voice session can account for most of a week's allowance.
If your credits disappear faster than you expect, this is almost always the reason — Profile → Usage will confirm it.
Typing the same questions costs a fraction as much, so it is worth saving voice for when hands-free is the point.
Not the same as dictation or read-aloud
- Dictation turns your speech into text you send — it does not use credits.
- Read-aloud speaks a reply the assistant has already written — it does not use credits either.
- Voice mode is a live two-way conversation, and it does.
