What are credits and how do I get more?

Updated 9 Aug 2026

Credits are how Drivings meters the AI features that cost money to run. Assistant chat, voice mode and generated images. Your Pro plan includes an allowance, and you can buy a top-up of 300, 700 or 1,500 credits at any time from Profile then Subscription.

What uses credits

Credits cover the AI features with a real per-use cost:

  • Assistant chat: a small amount per reply.
  • Attaching a photo or document to a message.
  • Generated study images.
  • Voice mode, which is the most credit-hungry feature because it is continuous speech in both directions.

What does not use credits

Nothing in the course itself. Lessons, practice questions, mock tests, hazard perception, streaks, XP and challenges are all included in Pro and never touch your credit balance. Credits are only for the AI features. Read-aloud and dictation don't use credits either. They are included with Pro outright.

What your plan includes

  • Weekly Pro includes 200 credits.
  • Annual Pro includes 6,000 credits, released as 500 each month so the allowance lasts the year.

Topping up

If you run low, you can buy more without changing your plan. Top-ups come in 300, 700 and 1,500 credits, from Profile → Subscription.

When your balance gets low, a notice appears above the message box in the assistant with a one-tap top-up, so you are not left discovering it mid-question.

Auto top-up

Turn on auto top-up in Profile → Subscription and we will buy a top-up for you when your balance falls below a threshold you choose, using your saved card. It exists so a long conversation is not interrupted. You can switch it off at any time, and it never runs without a card you have already saved.

You can see exactly what you have spent, and on what, at Profile → Usage.
