Open Profile then Account and choose Close account. Drivings cancels any active subscription and removes your personal data. If you have ever paid, the payment records themselves are kept in anonymised form, because tax and accounting law requires us to retain them.
How to do it
Profile → Account → Close account. You will be asked to confirm, and to tell us why. The reason is optional.
What happens
Any active subscription is cancelled, and you are signed out everywhere.
What happens to your data then depends on whether money has ever changed hands:
- If you have never paid, your account and its data are deleted outright.
- If you have ever paid, your personal details are removed and your account is anonymised, but the payment records are kept. We are required to retain transaction records for tax and accounting purposes and cannot delete them on request. What remains is a financial record with no personal information attached to it.
Either way, your progress, streak, XP and saved conversations are gone and cannot be recovered.
This is permanent
There is no undo and no grace period. If you are unsure, two smaller steps are usually what people actually want:
- Just want the emails to stop? Turn them off in Profile → Preferences.
- Just taking a break? Sign out. Your streak pauses, but everything is where you left it, and if you are paying, cancel first (how to cancel) so you are not billed while you are away.
Getting a copy first
If you want your data before it goes, email support@drivings.com and ask for an export before you close the account.
