About Drivings

Drivings is a theory-test preparation platform. We build study courses, practice questions and mock exams that help learner drivers pass the knowledge part of their driving test. We cover the United Kingdom and, in the United States, New York and Alabama.

What is in the product

In the UK we offer courses for car, motorcycle, LGV/HGV, PCV and ADI Part 1. In the US we cover car, motorcycle and CDL.

How our content is made

We use AI to help produce our content, and we tell you so plainly. Our articles are researched and drafted with AI assistance, then checked against primary sources (government guidance, official test rules and published statistics) before anything is published.

Articles on our blog carry a Sources and review card showing the date each was last reviewed and the primary source behind each factual claim, so you can check our work rather than take our word for it.

Several of our blog bylines are disclosed editorial profiles. Each of those profiles' bios states that it is a fictional profile representing the Drivings content team and that its portrait is AI-generated. We never present these profiles as credentialed experts, instructors or examiners.

Our data work

Our UK pass-rate and waiting-time pages are built from named DVSA statistical tables (including DRT111A, DRT121A, DRT122A and DRT122F) published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We name the tables we used, publish our methodology and offer machine-readable downloads so you can reproduce the numbers yourself. Our US figures come from federal and state sources, such as NHTSA and state motor-vehicle agencies, and each page names the source used.

Our UK analysis covers close to two million driving tests, and we publish more than 880 test-centre pages across the UK and US. UK practical-centre pages show local pass rates and waiting times where DVSA publishes them; DVSA does not publish those figures for individual theory centres. What Drivings is not

We are not a driving school. We do not provide in-car lessons, instructors or on-road training, and we cannot book your theory or practical test for you. Booking always happens through the official channels.

Drivings is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the DVSA, the DVLA or any state Department of Motor Vehicles. Where we republish official statistics, we say exactly which dataset we used; the UK datasets are reproduced under the Open Government Licence.

How your data is handled

The site is served over HTTPS and hosted on Vercel. Accounts and study data are stored with Supabase, with database row-level security policies limiting each account to its own records. Payments are processed by Stripe: card details go to Stripe directly and are never stored on our systems.

You can close your account from inside the app at any time. If you have never paid us, your data is deleted outright. If you have paid us, we cancel any live subscription, scrub your personal details from the account and retain the underlying financial records so payment history stays reconcilable.
