Can I send the assistant a photo or a PDF?

Updated Aug 4, 2026

Yes. Attach a photo, an image from your library, or a document such as a PDF to a message in the Drivings assistant, and it will read it and answer questions about it. Attachments use more credits than a plain text message.

How

Use the attach control to the left of the message box. You can send:

  • a photo you take there and then,
  • an image from your library,
  • a document, such as a PDF or a text file.

What it's useful for

  • A road sign you don't recognise — photograph it and ask.
  • A question from a book or another app that you got wrong.
  • A letter or booking confirmation you want explained.

What it costs

Attachments cost more credits than a plain message, because the assistant has to read the image or file as well as answer. One or two is not something to worry about; working through a whole book page by page will be noticeable in your usage.

What not to send

Please do not send documents containing more personal information than the question needs — a full driving licence, bank statements or ID. Crop to the part you are actually asking about. Attachments are stored with the conversation, and closing your account removes them.
