How do you get to the centre?

You’ll be pleased to learn that Uxbridge is easily accessible for learner drivers via many options. Let’s break them down.

Car

Arriving at Uxbridge theory test centre by car is a viable option. Just tap UB8 1QE into your sat nav and hit the road!

Remember, the test center is located in a busy area of London. It’s a good idea to skip peak hours, as traffic can get heavy.

Public transport

You have plenty of options when it comes to getting to the location of your test by public transport. If travelling by tube, you’ll find that, from Uxbridge station, it is just a short 5-minute walk to the centre.

If a train is your preferred mode of transport, West Drayton is the closest overground station, but the walk from there takes about 51 minutes.

Parking

Unfortunately, the theory test centre doesn’t offer on-site parking, but there are a few options nearby. The Grainges car park (UB8 1AB) is the closest one, just a 6-minute walk from the centre.

Uxbridge theory test centre pass rates

To put Uxbridge’s pass rates in a comparable context, we should address first the UK national average pass rate for the theory test.

GOV data indicates that over half of car learner drivers have failed their test in most of the past few years. In a way, this makes 50% a sort of reference point.

With these in mind, theory test pass rates for Uxbridge centre tend to increase over the past years.

2018-19
2019-20
2020-21
2021-22
41.8%
41.6%
51%
48%

But the most crucial point to remember, though, is that the pass rate of a theory test centre doesn’t necessarily correlate with your personal chances of success.

Everyone across the country takes the same test and practising hard and being fully prepared is the ultimate key to your success.

What should you expect from the UK theory test?

The driving theory test is the first of two exams you'll need to pass before getting your driving licence.

It aims to evaluate your knowledge of essential driving concepts, road rules, traffic signs, and safe driving practices.

The test includes two sections: multiple-choice questions and hazard perception. To pass, you must complete both successfully.

In the multiple choice section, you will be presented with 50 questions, and you need to answer at least 43 correctly to pass. These questions cover a range of DVSA topics, including traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices.

In the hazard perception part, you’ll watch 14 video clips showing everyday road scenes. During those videos, you’ll need to click on your mouse as soon as the hazard starts to develop. To pass this section of your theory test, you need to score 43 points out of a possible 75.

Passing your theory test means you’ll be able to book your practical driving test. Remember, though, your theory test pass certificate will expire after two years.
