Who can change a car test booking

GOV.UK's 2026 booking-rule changelog is the source of record: since 12 May 2026 only the candidate can book, change, swap or cancel a car test — not an instructor and not a cancellation-finder app. Drivings does not replace that official service.

When checking is worth it

Other candidates cancel throughout the day. There is no official “best minute”, and refreshing a page does not create a slot. Check GOV.UK when you can actually sit the new date; ignore apps that claim they will find one for you.

Use the wait to study

A moved date only helps if you can already pass. Start a free car theory practice — no sign-up — or get one reviewed question by email each morning. Keep the official booking on GOV.UK as it is.
